Are you a qualified swim coach who loves cold water, community, and connection?

Join us as a Bluetit-approved Swim Coach — helping more people safely enjoy the magic of outdoor swimming while staying true to The Bluetits’ inclusive, joyful ethos.

We’re looking for warm, welcoming people who believe that swimming isn’t about medals or minutes — it’s about joy, friendship, and the magic of a chilly dip.

💙 What It Means to Be a Bluetit-Approved Swim Coach

As part of the Bluetits Chill Swimmers network, you’ll keep running your own business while being recognised as a coach who shares our values.

You’ll:

  • Offer sessions that welcome swimmers of all abilities
  • Stay active in your local Bluetit flock(s)
  • Promote safety, confidence, and community over competition
  • Represent The Bluetits’ friendly, supportive spirit in everything you do

🐦 What You’ll Receive

  • Listing on The Bluetits website so swimmers can easily find your coaching sessions
  • Permission to advertise your services within assigned local Bluetit Facebook groups
  • Access to The Bluetits’ full Water Safety Training (for you and your swimmers, accredited by the IOL)
  • Use of the Bluetit-approved Coach logo for your marketing and communications
  • Ongoing connection with a growing, worldwide network of community-spirited swimmers and coaches

💸 What does it cost?

There is a membership fee of £30 per quarter (or £100 per year if you pay annually).

🧭 Who Can Apply

To apply, you’ll need:

  • An STA Level 2 Award in Open Water Swim Coaching (or equivalent)
  • Your own swim coaching business and valid insurance
  • To be an active member of your local Bluetit flock(s)
  • Up-to-date water safety training (First Aid strongly recommended)

📨 How to Apply

  1. Read through the Swim Coach Agreement which lays out all the terms and conditons of being a swim coach (you will need to agree to this as part of the application process)
  2. Complete our short application form and share your qualifications, insurance, and safety documents.
  3. We’ll review your application, and if successful, we will assign you to the most suitable local flock(s).
  4. Once approved, you’ll receive your Bluetit-approved Coach logo and be added to our website and group listings.

Please note that you will need the following to complete your application:

  • A copy of your STA Level 2 Award for Open Water Swimming
  • Any other relevant qualification certificates
  • A copy of your insurance cover
  • Examples of your Risk Assessment, Standard/Normal Operating Procedure, and Emergency Action Plan.
