March for Clean Water

March for Clean Water

On Sunday, the 3rd of November 2024, 141 organisations joined together to flood the streets and demand that the government Stop the Poisoning of Britain's Waters. It was estimated that over 15,000 people flooded the streets wearing blue, which was incredible AND The Bluetits Chill Swimmers were there!

Over 80 Bluetits Chill Swimmers from all around the country, some travelling long distances to be there, met up with our founder Sian Richardson, and then marched on Parliament Square. Sian led the chant "SHIT in our rivers and the sea, Be a Bluetit not a Tit, Cut the crap, Clean up your SHIT!" The event was run by River Action with Chris Packham,Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Surfers Against Sewage and other high-profile environmentalists. It was an incredible atmosphere and a cause that many of us feel very passionate about. In true Bluetits style we were loud, enthusiastic and colourful - we met lots of other like minded people and even met The Wombles!

As Bluetits, we depend upon clean water to be able to do what we love whether it be dip, bob, swimble, swim or splash! To be part of the March for Clean Water was wonderful and The Bluetits Chill Swimmers that attended did our wonderful community proud!
